An industry highlight held each year, the coveted SC Awards from Secure Computing magazine is run as separate awards in Europe, the USA and Asia (APac), and is voted upon by the people who really matter in the security products business: customers.

The SC Awards program spans the US, Asia, and the UK so the competition is tough. The SC Awards are composed of two sections. The ‘Reader Trust Technology Awards’ which are voted o­n by SC readers in the US and European regions, and by the SC Awards Council which comprises of a group of carefully selected senior CSOs; and the Asian Pacific awards and other categories including the ‘Professional Awards’ which are judged by a panel of the industry’s top talents.

The VB100 awardis designed to show that an antivirus solution is capable of detecting all current in-the-wild threats o­n the platform under test, with no false positives detected, as well as the scanning speed of the product under test, and, as such, has become the de facto standard in the industry for measuring the quality of an antivirus solution. As such, it is very important to reviewers and editors when defining the quality of products under review. Winning of the VB100 is essential to each key antivirus technology company, if their products are to be taken seriously by both the industry, home and corporate users.
